Ease Into Fall

Fall is one of the easiest seasons to start experimenting with color. It is neither too hot & humid hence taking away all your interest in makeup nor is it so cold that no matter what you do the center of attention will be the red nose and flushed cheeks. Now that Fall is finally here, lets make the best of it by adding color into our makeup routines in simple yet glamorous ways !

EYES

Lets get started with the eyes. To doll up your peepers give them colored mascaras a try. There is the option of colored eyeliners too but it isn't half as sexy as long lashes in deep hues. One of my favorite colored mascaras are the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Color Bold Volume Lifting Mascaras. Try out the blue and the purple ones which look great against a variety of eye colors. Also since the colors are deep, rich and ultra feminine it'll keep you from looking like a teenager.

An awesome trick to make the colored lashes pop is to add a nude or white pencil delicately along your lower water line. It makes the whites of your eyes look whiter which in turn enhances the contrast between the colors and your peepers shall pop !

LIPS

Lipstick lovers rejoice! If the recently concluded NYFW SS2010 were any indication, the future belongs to lipstick! I for one am glad it’s making a come back.

Is there anything sexier than a stick of lipstick? I think not. Lip gloss just doesn't cut it. Does it?

With the temperatures dropping, it’s best to drop off the nude lipsticks, the browns, the pinks and the corals. We've done a lot of it this summer. So pack them up and bring out your inner diva. AKA deeper sexier hues of plums, mauves, berries, reds, purple and black.

One thing everybody says is that it’s hard to find a deep color that suits them. However my theory is this - one has gotten so comfortable with nudes that going darker is making them very uncomfortable. If you find yourself hating the dark lip trend then put aside the lipstick and reach for lip pencils. They have a glossy finish, are pigmented yet not opaque in color hence making it much easier for one to experiment with deeper shades. Some of my favorite lip pencils are Lipstick Queen China Town Glossy Pencils, Bobbi Brown Lip Crayons and Avon Big Color Glossy Lip Pencils.

Cheeks

If there is only one thing I could do before leaving my house (other than my brows) I'd go for the bronzer.

Just because its colder don’t drop the bronzer from your routine. Everybody needs a bronzer in their life all the time. The warm effect it has on the face is one of constant vacation. And who doesn’t want to look well rested and glowing all the time! Powder bronzers are the easiest to apply and look the most natural. Bobbi Brown and Physicians Formula make some brilliant bronzers that come in a range of colors to suit the needs of various skin tones.

Hair

One is never too old for some color on their hair. No I am not talking caramel highlights.

I'm talking about bling strands - the latest in fun hair accessories. Bling strands are glossy shimmering strands that look just like hair only they are not. These colorful strands are tied into your hair and can be straightened, curled, washed and everything else that you do with your own hair!

My favorite way to wear it is to use a bright color like blue, tie it into my hair and then do a fish braid. The hints of blue that show up along the length of the braid are fun, girly and perfect for date night with my girl friends!

What is your favorite way to incorporate color into your Fall makeup routine? Is there something brilliant you do every Fall? Do share!
