| | | Now that we have discussed basic skin care tips for a daily routine it is time to discuss the early morning FIVE minute makeup to accentuate your beauty. Yes!!! I said five minutes. Ladies lets face it not everyone in today’s world has 45 minutes to put on a full face of makeup early in the morning. There are a few things that should be kept in mind when doing makeup for a day time look: If you take care of your skin your makeup will naturally turn out more beautiful because the natural oils in your skin will give a soft glow. Medium to light coverage foundations should be used for a day look. For those that like more natural makeup this is the perfect look for you since the mornings are light, soft and cool. The day time look should always be very soft and natural since the sun is out and we face more natural light. It’s also very obvious to see our misimperfections through makeup. You shouldn’t be using more than 5 to 7 products for your day look and this does not include your moisturizer or primer. Follow the steps listed below to achieve your five minute makeup. (I like to do my eye makeup first and than add foundation, concealer and powder. In case you have eye shadow fall outs you can wipe them with makeup wipes plus you appreciate the foundation more after your eye makeup is completed)
Steps
1. Apply under eye cream to reduces puffiness and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles using you index finger. Be very gentle and DO NOT RUB (under eyes are the most sensitive part of your face) moisturize and prime skin with your daily moisturizer and primer (if you use products with SPF always remember SPF builds for instance: SPF 15 moisturizer with SPF 15 foundation = SPF 30)
2. Apply a thin layer of concealer on eye lids using a blending brush (a neutral color base always works better than a concealer it prevents the shadow from creasing, brings out the true color of the shadow and helps the color stay on longer)
3. AUsing the same brush pat on a neutral eye shadow on entire eye lid (avoid glittery eye shadows during the day) MAC eye shadow all that glitter is perfect
4. Finish the eyes with a few coats of mascara on top and bottom lashes (eyeliner is optional) once opened mascara will expire in two months
5. Using a angle brush fill in the eyebrows with a powder eye shadow or brow pencil
6. Apply a dab of foundation or tinted moisturizer using a foundation brush (remember less is always more) on to your face
7. Use a blending brush to apply concealer under the eyes (every makeup artist applies conclear differently some use it under foundation some like it over foundation) if you use it under foundation the foundation swipes it off anyways especially if you have a heavy hand so you loose the purpose of using a conclear. It is beneficial to apply conclear over foundation since you will end up using less product and this will prevent creasing
8. Apply a loose finishing powder using a large powder brush to set the foundation and concealer
9. Apply a neutral shade blush to the apples of your cheeks using the same powder brush or dust bronzer to you cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead
10. Finish with a touch of soft nude lip gloss (I love MAC lust lipglass) | | | | *Bonus tip don’t forget to wear your deodorant and apply a light fragrance to the pulse points of you wrists* | Mandy is a contributor to The Desi Diva.
